Job summary

Cygnet Health Care is seeking an Occupational Therapist for Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke, near Weston-super-Mare. The role involves assessing and treating occupational dysfunction within a multidisciplinary team across acute, rehabilitation, PICU and personality disorder services, from admission to discharge.

Newly qualified therapists are welcome, with a 12-month preceptorship. HCPC registration is required, and the post offers CPD, supervision and opportunities to contribute to student education.

Job description

This Occupational Therapist post sits at Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke, a 71-bed adult mental health hospital near Weston-super-Mare, run by Cygnet Health Care. The work centres on assessing and treating occupational dysfunction for an allocated caseload through individual and group sessions, within a multidisciplinary team from admission to discharge. It covers acute, PICU, rehabilitation and personality disorder services and is open to newly qualified therapists, with a 12-month preceptorship. HCPC registration is required.

What the job involves

• Assess and treat occupational dysfunction for patients on an allocated caseload
• Deliver person-centred group and individual therapy sessions
• Work in a coordinated way with the multidisciplinary team to build service users' skills from admission to discharge
• Work alongside music therapy, dance and movement therapy, activity coordinators, psychologists and the Active Life team
