Qualifications

Your Role

Service Line: Mental Health Adults - PICU, Acute, and Forensic

Post: (Band 5) Occupational Therapist

Salary: £32,883

Contract: Fixed-term contract until September 2026

Base: Cygnet Stevenage

Responsible for:

• 14 service users
• Supervision of an OTA

Responsible to: Head of OT and Regional Lead OT

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Location: Cygnet Hospital Stevenage, Gravely Road, Stevenage, Herts SG1 4YS

The hospital operates as a medium secure unit with PICU/Acute services within this framework. Our site features therapeutic resources such as a Recovery College, ADL kitchen, gym, therapeutic garden, football pitch, music studio, and other spaces. Service users are encouraged to develop community skills with accessible transport links and a vibrant town center.

The multidisciplinary team (MDT) includes nurses, psychologists, OTAs, social workers, psychiatrists, and 24/7 nursing support. You will be a vital part of the ward MDT and OT department, working autonomously with OTA support.

Led by our occupational therapy directors, we support over 150 Occupational Therapists and 300 OT support staff. We promote collaboration, specialist interest groups, and service development, with clinical lead occupational therapists guiding evidence-based practice and therapy pathways.
