Position: Newly Qualified Occupational Therapist
Location: Cygnet Hospital Maidstone
Full-time: 5 days per week
Salary: £32,883 (up to £35,465 upon completing preceptorship)

About the Site
Cygnet Hospital Maidstone is a state-of-the-art, 63-bed mental health facility for adults, located in Kent Medical Campus, Maidstone. The hospital is purpose-built to meet national standards and provides essential mental health services for the local community.
The hospital comprises four specialized wards:
The services are designed to meet regional NHS demand, allowing patients to receive care close to home and loved ones.
Roseacre Ward, specifically, is a 16-bed personality disorder service supporting women in managing their mental health, developing coping strategies, and preparing for community reintegration. The focus is on recovery and functional skills development.
As an Occupational Therapist, you will conduct assessments, deliver treatments, and manage patient care within this service.
You will develop and implement an OT-led service tailored to patient needs, focusing on community living, functional, and coping skills, following the occupational therapy process of assessment, intervention, and review.
The multidisciplinary team includes a consultant psychiatrist, specialty doctor, occupational therapist, psychotherapist, assistant psychologist, social worker, mental health nurses, and healthcare assistants.
You will supervise a full-time OT Assistant and receive monthly supervision from an experienced OT, along with weekly 1:1 meetings with your supervisor.
The OT team comprises a qualified OT, Senior OT, Head OT, and 4 OT Assistants, all committed to your professional development.
Unique feature: The ward includes a sensory room, vital for supporting emotional regulation.
