Summary of the site
Cygnet Churchill, in South London, is an inpatient mental health hospital for men. It has four wards, including two emergency acute admissions services (Juniper Court and Palm Court) and two high support inpatient rehabilitation services (Elm Court and Mulberry Court). You would initially be based on our high dependency rehabilitation unit, which provides recovery and rehabilitation approaches to enable service users to lead full and independent lives in the community. There will be opportunities to rotate to the acute services. Each ward has a designated qualified Occupational Therapist and Occupational Therapy Assistants.
In this role, you will assess, implement, and develop OT treatment programs based on service users' diagnoses and occupational needs. This includes conducting assessments, identifying risks, and developing treatment plans. You will be an integral member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and OT department, working autonomously with support from an OTA. The MDT supports individuals throughout their care journey to manage risks and prevent relapse in community settings.
The team includes nurses, psychologists, psychology assistants, occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, social workers, and psychiatrists, with 24/7 nursing support. This structure allows us to meet changing needs while ensuring safety and promoting independence.
If you meet the criteria, please apply today. For an informal discussion, contact our in-house recruiter, Hannah Dunlop, at 07720 497 792.
