Bromley Road Hospital in London is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant to support a multidisciplinary team delivering structured activities and therapeutic interventions for adults with mental health conditions.

Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, you willsupport the service indelivering structured activities and assisting in the planning forindividual and group therapeutic interventions. You will build one-to-one rapports with service users to encourageparticipation in activities and empower recovery.

As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will contribute to the assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and modification of structured activities in order to measure progression and ensure effectiveness.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be supported regionally and will have access to a variety of training and online courses to support your career development and growth.

As an Occupational Therapist Assistant you will be:

• Assisting Occupational Therapists, Nurses and other MDT staff in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual care plans.
• Supporting service users to achieve their goals and access appropriate services.
• Maintainingadequate records, entering details in the service user healthcare records.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• GCSE/O-Levels (A-C) or a relevant NVQ2.
• Experience in a similar environment & Mental Health
• Verbal and written communication skills

Where you will be working:

Location :Location: 84-86 Bromley Road, Catford, London, SE6 2URYou will work at Bromley Road, a rehabilitation service for men and women enduring mental health issues, complex needs and complicated addiction problems. People in your care may include those who have a forensic history and those who are detained under the Mental Health Act.

You will work alongside the multidisciplinary team to deliver positive support and risk reduction strategies, as well as providing opportunities for social inclusion and building skills for independent living.

The team at Bromley Road work alongside service users, supporting them in their therapy programmes, building coping strategies and increasing their life skills. The aim at Bromley Road is to keep the length of stay to a minimum by planning discharge at the point of admission. Communication with families and valued support networks are encouraged by an experienced and values led staff team.
