Job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million with regional and national services.

The shift pattern for this position is Monday – Friday, 9-5. (Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.)

We are seeking a creative, innovative, and experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist confident in core skills to join the multidisciplinary community team for Alcohol & Drugs Recovery Services in Inverclyde. The role requires excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a collaborative clinical style. Responsibilities include applying specialist occupational therapy knowledge within a recovery framework for individuals with alcohol or drug dependency. Key tasks involve enabling clients to self-manage their recovery through techniques such as functional assessments, structuring daily routines, vocational rehabilitation, and facilitating access to leisure, education, and employment through individual and group interventions. The role offers opportunities to collaborate with other health and social care professionals within the ADRS, inpatient/day services, and partner agencies.

During induction, there will be opportunities to spend time with OT colleagues in Glasgow Addiction services. Engagement with the OT in Addictions Specialist Interest Group is encouraged. You will receive professional support and supervision from the Lead Occupational Therapist, access relevant training, and have protected CPD time.
