Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Location: HMP Berwyn, Wrexham Industrial Estate, Bridge Rd N, Wrexham LL13 9QE

Contract Type: Locum

Salary: 22 - 27 per hour

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join the Therapies team here at HMP Berwyn, a category C prison for adult men with a range of varied health needs. This is a great opportunity to embed change and embed a shared culture with HMP and the probation service.


We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who is motivated to work with a range of clinical presentations, including mental and physical health, as learning disability and substance misuse and who is passionate in sharing the benefits of Occupational Therapy. They will work alongside Occupational Therapy colleagues as part of a wider healthcare team and be well supported within the role. The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy and an interest in working in the prison setting to reduce the impact of health inequalities.

Essential Qualifications:

We are looking for a passionate Occupational Therapist with:

  • HCPC registration.
  • UK-recognised occupational therapy diploma/degree.
  • Minimum one year of relevant experience, ideally within the UK healthcare system.
