Job summary

Momenta Connect is seeking an Occupational Therapist to support children and young people, mainly in school settings with some clinic-based and remote opportunities. You’ll assess needs linked to EHCPs, deliver specialist interventions and help therapy goals become part of everyday life.

We offer flexible contracts (52 weeks or summer), generous leave, a £5,000 retention bonus, regular supervision, CPD support, and wellbeing programs. DBS and safeguarding checks apply.

Qualifications

  • HCPC and RCOT registration required.
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy (Undergraduate or Master’s) required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess children and young people’s developmental and learning needs in school and clinic settings.
  • Develop, deliver and review individualized occupational therapy intervention plans.
  • Work with parents, teachers and multi-disciplinary teams to embed therapy goals in daily life.
  • Equip key adults with practical strategies and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Balance assessment, intervention, consultation and collaboration to make a difference daily.

At Momenta Connect, we offer an introduction to paediatrics program that supports with specific teaching and professional development goals within the skill areas required to work in Paediatric Occupational Therapy. We focus on upskilling in education and clinical settings, providing tailored training sessions in specific learning areas such as fine motor, gross motor, sensory processing, handwriting, paediatric assessments such as Movement ABC, BOT, Beery VMI, and many more! At the end of your first year, you will have the tools to be an independent paediatric practitioner within school and/ or clinical settings with clinical supervision support along the way to further support your clinical and professional development.

  • Job Title: Occupational Therapist· Location: Sunderland· Salary: Up to £50,000 FTE, pro rata, dependent on experience· Hours: Part Time - 22.5 hours per week (3 days)

About the role

You’ll work mainly in school settings, with some clinic-based and remote opportunities where appropriate. As an Occupational Therapist, you’ll help unlock children and young people’s potential by assessing EHCP-related needs, delivering specialist interventions and supporting therapy goals to become part of everyday life.

  • Assess children and young people’s developmental and learning needs, including those linked to Education, Health and Care Plans.
  • Develop, deliver and review individualised occupational therapy intervention plans.
  • Work with parents, carers, teaching teams and multi-disciplinary colleagues to embed therapy goals into daily life.
  • Equip key adults with practical strategies, evaluate impact, maintain accurate documentation and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings.
  • It’s a varied role where you’ll balance assessment, intervention, consultation and collaboration, while making a visible difference to children, families and school teams every day.
What you’ll need
  • HCPC and RCOT registration
  • Undergraduate or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy
It would be great if you also bring
  • Paediatric occupational therapy experience, ideally in school-based or specialist settings· Experience completing assessments for Education, Health and Care Plans· Experience supporting children and young people with SEMH, complex or developmental needs· Specialist CPD, trauma-informed practice or other relevant training
