Job summary

Compass Associates are exclusively partnering with a specialist neurorehabilitation provider to recruit an experienced Occupational Therapist for their service in Southampton. You will manage your own caseload, complete comprehensive assessments and develop tailored rehabilitation programmes with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires HCPC registration and 1–2 years' neurorehabilitation experience, with emphasis on stroke or acquired brain injury cases.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is required.
• 1–2 years post-qualification Neurorehabilitation experience.
• Experience supporting patients after stroke or acquired brain injury.
• Ability to manage a caseload with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary working skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete occupational therapy assessments for new admissions (in-patients).
• Develop and deliver individualised rehabilitation programmes.
• Promote independence through evidence-based OT interventions.
• Prescribe and assess equipment and environmental adaptations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to achieve rehabilitation goals.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and outcome measures.
• Contribute to person-centred care and discharge planning.
• Work autonomously with access to clinical supervision when needed.

Specialist Neurorehabilitation Service | Southampton

Hours: Full Time | Monday-Friday | 40 Hours

Compass Associates are exclusively partnering with a specialist neurorehabilitation provider to recruit an experienced Occupational Therapist for their purpose-built service in Southampton.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly specialist service supporting adults with acquired brain injuries, stroke and other complex neurological conditions.

As the sole Occupational Therapist, you'll be responsible for managing your own caseload, completing comprehensive assessments and developing tailored rehabilitation programmes. You'll work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team alongside Physiotherapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Psychologists, Nursing staff and a Neurorehabilitation Consultant.

Responsibilities

• Complete occupational therapy assessments for new admissions.

• Prescribe and assess specialist equipment and environmental adaptations where required.
• Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to achieve rehabilitation goals.

• Contribute to person-centred care planning and discharge planning where appropriate.
• Work autonomously while accessing clinical supervision as required.

We're looking for an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about neurological rehabilitation and confident working independently.

To be considered, you'll have:

• HCPC registration.
• A minimum of 1-2 years' post-qualification Occupational Therapy experience in neurorehabilitation.
• Experience supporting patients following stroke or acquired brain injury.
• Confidence managing a caseload with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary working skills.

Experience working with tracheostomy or ventilated patients would be advantageous but is not essential.
