Job summary

Active Care Group, one of the UK's leading complex care providers, is hiring an Occupational Therapist for our Chislehurst service. You will join a dynamic multidisciplinary team focusing on neurorehabilitation, delivering person-centred care tailored to each resident.

The role offers opportunities to collaborate with staff across sites, including Blackheath, with training and supervision to develop expertise in specialist rehabilitation and research activity.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Occupational Therapist registered with HCPC.
  • Current UK professional registration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide highly specialist OT interventions for a complex caseload in your specialist area
  • Keep up to date with new treatment methods and be actively involved in research projects relating to specialist area
  • Evaluate effectiveness of service and carry out audits where required
  • Liaise effectively with multidisciplinary team colleagues
  • Provide support and guidance for junior staff and advice with complex cases where necessary assisting in the treatment of such cases
  • Be responsible for department training and contribute to training and development of all staff
  • Ensure risk management and safety procedures are in place for the OT Department and adhered to
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with all colleagues, visitors, and carers
  • Keeping people safe from any harm and protecting their human rights

Our site features a fully equipped therapy room, therapy kitchen, and gym, alongside welcoming communal spaces that encourage social engagement. Conveniently located near local amenities and transport links, we support residents to reintegrate into the community wherever possible.

Job responsibilities

Our standard working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Qualifications

Essential

  • A qualified Occupational Therapist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
Experience

Essential

  • Experienced in neurological rehabilitation, with confidence managing complex cases
  • Comfortable working autonomously and across multiple sites
  • Passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centred care
  • Experienced in supervision, mentoring, or supporting less experienced staff
  • Motivated to contribute to service development and continuous improvement

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
