Job summary

Witherslack Group is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at Sandwell Learning Centre in the South East. The role is maternity cover for a fixed term and part-time, 2 days per week, supporting educational and residential colleagues with clinically informed living and learning environments for our children and young people.

You will deliver tailored therapeutic interventions, ensure HCPC registration is maintained, and contribute to a robust clinical

Qualifications

  • Be HCPC registered as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience delivering therapeutic interventions for children and young people with complex needs.
  • Experience supporting teams around a child to provide clinically informed living and learning environments.

Responsibilities

  • Support educational and residential colleagues to provide therapeutic living and learning environments.
  • Provide individualised therapeutic interventions based on clinical assessment.
  • Deliver workshops, training and guidance to teams on therapeutic approaches.

This role is based at Sandwell Learning Centre, covering maternity until July 2027. The role is 2-days-per-week.

Located in the South East, our fully integrated therapeutic, education and care enables young people to realise their full potential, whilst developing their social and emotional resilience for the next chapter in their lives. The unique characteristic of our integrated provisions are the delivery of wraparound education, therapy and care to all children and young people 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Our clinicians are a crucial part of the most joined-up model in SEND. Across all of our specialist schools and children's homes, we provide unrivalled levels of clinical support, both in terms of our expertise and breadth of provision. Our young people present with a complexity of need including developmental trauma, neuro-developmental conditions and special educational needs.

As part of a multi-disciplinary clinical team you will be supporting educational and residential colleagues to provide therapeutic living and learning environments and, based on clinical assessment and formulation, offer individualised interventions and engagement to our young people.

Our Occupational Therapists work collaboratively within our schools and children's homes, this ensures that therapeutic support permeates every aspect of the education, care and support we offer all of our children and young people. You will provide consultation, workshops, training and guidance to the educational and residential teams around our children.

  • Be a qualified Occupational Therapist registered with the HCPC
