Qualifications

  • HCPC registered as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy with registration.
  • Competence across a broad OT skill set from post-registration experience.
  • Strong communication, initiative and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient-centred OT services in a community hospital setting.
  • Assess, plan and deliver evidence-based interventions; manage own caseload.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maximise independence.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, carers and colleagues; maintain records.
  • Recommend equipment when appropriate; ensure care aligns with standards.

Job Introduction

Are you a passionate Occupational Therapist looking to make a difference in community rehabilitation? We are seeking a motivated Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our team at Savernake Hospital, supporting older people through rehabilitation and complex discharge planning within a community hospital setting. You will deliver high-quality, evidence-based care, manage your own caseload, and work closely with the multidisciplinary team to help patients achieve their goals and maximise independence. You will also support therapy assistants and students, contributing to a positive learning environment. We are looking for someone with excellent communication and clinical reasoning skills who is enthusiastic, flexible, and committed to patient-centred care. Main Responsilbities

You will provide a high-quality Occupational Therapy service within a community hospital setting, delivering patient-centred rehabilitation and supporting safe, timely discharges. You will assess, plan and deliver evidence-based interventions, manage your own caseload and work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to maximise patient independence. You will communicate effectively with patients, carers and colleagues, maintain accurate clinical records, recommend equipment where appropriate and ensure care is delivered in line with professional standards and best practice. You will also support service improvement, contribute to the development of therapy support staff and students, and maintain your own continuing professional development.

Essential
  • HCPC Registered
  • Professional Qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • Broad range of occupational therapy skills gained through post-registration experience

  • MSK / Community / Acute work-based training
  • Participating in clinical and/or operational audits /evaluations
