CET works with adults (18 to 65 years old) with severe and enduring mental health issues. Step and Thrive is a new pathway developed as part of the Community Engagement Team to provide accessible, community-based support through activities, groups, and social spaces addressing holistic well-being needs. The service is co-produced with lived experience to ensure support is accessible, relevant, and effective, drawing on community psychology, trauma-informed, and attachment-based principles. It aims to foster community integration by collaborating with community organizations and supporting access to sustainable support outside of NHS services.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support colleagues in providing a comprehensive group offer, including therapeutic and life skills groups. They will assist in delivering and coordinating psycho-educational, practical, and therapeutic interventions in partnership with voluntary and third sector organizations, co-producing with user groups and experts by experience. They will contribute to the evaluation and development of Step and Thrive and support the Manager and Lead OT in developing the occupational therapy contribution to the service.

The post holder will provide enabling interventions within a multidisciplinary team, managing a caseload of individuals recovering from complex mental health problems in the community. They will support group activities, assess needs using Dialogue Plus, and develop care plans in collaboration with service users and their carers, linking them to community resources.

They will work closely with the Team manager, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, and other team members to ensure a responsive and effective service tailored to individual needs.
