Occupational Therapist Job Vacancy Crawley, West Sussex – Term Time Only

Location

We are recruiting for an Occupational Therapist role based close to Horsham, West Sussex. This position is easily accessible from surrounding areas such as Horsham, Crawley, Worthing, Guildford, and Chichester, all within a comfortable 35–40-minute commute.

Your Role

You will be working in a Residential School that provides both education and residential support for children with a range of neurological and associated medical needs. As an Occupational Therapist, your key responsibility will be to help students achieve their physical development goals, providing crucial therapy and support.

Duties

  • Contribute to strategies that promote function and independence, enhancing learning.
  • Implement occupational therapy programmes reflecting the school's Conductive Education ethos.
  • Work collaboratively within a trans-disciplinary team to integrate occupational therapy into the curriculum.
  • Make effective recommendations on equipment and resources that optimize budget use.
  • Ensure the learning environment is well-equipped to support skill development.
  • Promote function and participation, helping students access both curriculum and environment.
  • Support curriculum delivery, ensuring student progress.
  • Maintain excellent care standards and practices.
  • Ensure the health and safety of staff and students.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment, ensuring it is fit for purpose.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.

Criteria

  • Qualified Occupational Therapist Status
  • Registered with the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) and Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Knowledge of Cerebral Palsy
  • Understanding of Sensory Integration
