Job summary

Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Occupational Therapist to gain experience across acute hospital, inpatient general and stroke rehabilitation, and community therapy. The role supports a flexible, rotating pattern of work including weekends.

We offer a preceptorship programme with regular supervision and opportunities to participate in service improvement projects, supporting ongoing professional development within a supportive MDT environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in occupational therapy across multiple settings is valued (acute hospital, elderly care, trauma & orthopaedics, stroke, surgery, medical)
• Familiarity with community therapy and inpatient rehabilitation is desirable
• Willingness to participate in flexible, rotating shifts and weekend work as part of a broad service pattern

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment and rehabilitation across a broad range of specialties within the Trusts services
• Collaborate with experienced clinicians and the multi-disciplinary team to deliver patient care
• Engage in the Trust's preceptorship programme and access supervision to complete clinical competencies
• Participate in service improvement projects and contribute to professional development and learning opportunities

We are seeking a motivated and proactive Occupational Therapist to gain experience and develop their skills within various specialties, including the acute hospital (elderly care, trauma & orthopaedics, acute stroke, surgery, and medical), inpatient general and stroke rehabilitation and community therapy. We would love to hear from interested candidates who have a range of occupational therapy experience, which could include clinical student placements as well a post graduate practice.

Rotational posts are a great opportunity for your own personal and professional development. Services are delivered over a flexible pattern of working, including weekends.

The role will allow the successful candidate to develop a broad range of skills and knowledge in both assessment and rehabilitation, and there are opportunities to work alongside experienced clinicians and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

The Trust is committed to ongoing staff training and development, including our established preceptorship programme. You will have regular access to clinical and managerial supervision and support to complete clinical competencies. Opportunities to participate in service improvement projects are available, and we have a well-established Band 5 peer support group.
