Job summary

Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW) is seeking an Occupational Therapist (Band 5) for a fixed-term 6 months at the Carleton Clinic in Carlisle. The role is full time (37.5 hours per week) with weekend and bank holiday commitments.

The post offers a supportive team, extensive development opportunities and NHS benefits. The ideal candidate will hold HCPC registration, be committed to professional development and be prepared to work as part of an MDT to deliver

Qualifications

  • Recognised Occupational Therapy degree qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy services to patients with diverse needs under supervision of the Specialist OT.
  • Manage and provide ongoing assessment and intervention for service users.
  • Involve carers and family in intervention planning where appropriate.
  • Develop and deliver evidence-based OT interventions with service users and carers.
  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure high quality, individualised care.
  • Provide compassionate care based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.

North Cumbria Inpatient services are looking for highly motivated Occupational Therapists to join out team on Ruskin, a 15 bedded, inpatient dementia assessment and treatment unit.

You will work alongside the Specialist Occupational Therapist, as well as the wider multidisciplinary team to provide assessments and evidence based interventions, following the OT process

Main duties of the job
  • To provide occupational therapy service to patients who have a variety of occupational therapy needs, diverse presentations and learning disabilities, as well as a range of mental health conditions, under the supervision of the Specialist Occupational Therapist.
  • To manage and provide ongoing assessment and intervention for service users.
  • To consider carer needs and ensure carer and family are involved in intervention planning where appropriate.
  • To develop and deliver evidenced based Occupational Therapy interventions in collaboration with service users and carers where appropriate.
  • The post holder will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team ensuring that high quality, individualised care is delivered which ensures safety and a commitment to promoting recovery and wellbeing and maximising independence.
  • To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.
  • To provide clinical supervision to staff members as delegated by the ward leadership team.
  • To incorporate a client centred philosophy into clinical practice and client centred collaborative care.

Education and Qualification
