BASED AT LAKELANDS, NORTH ESSEX with regular travel across Suffolk and Norfolk

We're seeking an experienced HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist to join our expanding team. You'll provide comprehensive occupational therapy to children across clinic, home, and school settings, working with a varied caseload including sensory processing, developmental coordination, fine motor skills, and complex needs.

A key part of this role involves conducting EHCP assessments and writing education reports, supporting children to access the right provision for their learning. This assessment work complements your ongoing clinical caseload, offering the rewarding opportunity to follow children throughout their entire therapy journey.

  • HCPC registration (Occupational Therapist)
  • Experience with paediatric/children's occupational therapy
  • Experience writing professional reports for education settings
  • Experience working with schools, SENCOs, and education professionals
  • Full UK driving licence (due to home visits and school-based work)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Band 6 experience or experienced Band 5 ready to progress to Band 6
  • Knowledge of standardised paediatric assessments (BOHA, Movement ABC, DASH, Sensory Profile 2)
  • Experience with sensory integration, fine motor development, or developmental coordination disorders
  • Familiarity with Essex, Suffolk or Norfolk education/SEND systems

We're a well-established, family-led paediatric therapy practice serving Essex, Suffolk, and beyond. Our young, dynamic multi-disciplinary team includes Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, a Speech & Language Therapist, a Psychotherapist Counsellor, and trusted charity partners.

Work settings include:
  • Two well-equipped clinics (Copford and Lakelands, Stanway)
  • Home visits across Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk
  • School-based assessments and therapy sessions
You will be:
  • Motivated and enthusiastic, dedicated to delivering a high-quality service
  • Experienced in paediatric OT assessment and treatment across diverse presentations
  • Committed to making a real difference to the lives of children, young people and their families
  • A team player, keen to use your individual skills and experience to shape our developing service
  • Organised and able to demonstrate good time management, prioritisation and delegation
  • Comfortable working with schools, families, and multidisciplinary teams
We offer:
  • Flexible working - Choose full-time, part-time, or term-time only arrangements
  • Clinical autonomy - Shape your own caseload and treatment approaches
  • Regular clinical supervision - Support your professional development and progression
  • CPD opportunities - Access to training in specialist areas
  • Supportive team environment - Work alongside experienced physios, OTs, an SLT and a Counsellor in a collaborative culture
  • Modern facilities - Two well-equipped clinics
  • Varied, rewarding caseload - Balance between ongoing clinical work and EHCP assessment
  • Flexible days (including 3- or 4-day week options) and home/school-based caseload weighted to reduce commute for Suffolk/Norfolk-based candidates
Why Join Kids' Therapy Works?

You’ll work with children across the full spectrum of their therapy journey - from initial assessments through to achieving their developmental goals.

You’ll be part of a growing practice (established 2010) with an excellent reputation across Essex and beyond, working with respected charities including Tree of Hope, Just4Children, Alfie's A-Team and Nina's Foundation.

Our therapists enjoy genuine clinical autonomy, supportive peer supervision, and the satisfaction of making a lasting difference to children and families every day.
