ESSEX PARTNERSHIP UNIVERSITY NHS FOUNDATION TRUST in Chelmsford — at the Crystal Centre — seeks a Senior Occupational Therapist to deliver specialist OT services for older adults with complex mental health needs. You will assess, treat, and discharge plan within a MDT, prioritising holistic, person-centred care.

You will supervise junior staff and students, engage in service development, and contribute to CPD and audits to improve patient outcomes.

Job description

The Senior Occupational Therapist role within Older Adult Mental Health In-Patient Service, based at the Crystal Centre, Chelmsford, provides an exciting opportunity to deliver specialist, recovery-focused occupational therapy for older adults with complex mental health needs. Working as valued member of a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in assessment, care planning, rehabilitation, risk management, and discharge planning to support positive patient outcomes. You will work closely with ward and community colleagues to deliver holistic, person-centred care, while also providing supervision and support to junior staff, therapy assistants, and students. The successful candidate will join a supportive & experienced team with access to regular clinical and management supervision, and ongoing professional development opportunities, while contributing to service development and quality improvement initiatives. Facilitate therapeutic interventions in both individual and group settings. Provide supervision, leadership, and operational support to junior staff, assistants, and students. Contribute to service development, clinical audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives. Maintain high standards of record keeping, governance, and professional practice.
