Job summary

Aberbeeg Hospital, part of Elysium Healthcare, is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a specialist mental health service for women with emerging or personality disorders.

You will plan and deliver evidence-based group and individual programmes, work with a multidisciplinary team, and develop your professional skills.

Qualifications

  • Essential requirements: Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy and UK HCPC registration (or applied for).
  • Evidence of ability to research, plan, implement and evaluate a project for specific groups.
  • Effective written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Providing comprehensive OT assessments.
  • Under supervision, planning and reviewing OT treatment programmes.
  • Under supervision, identifying and actioning referrals both in-house, including support staff, and to external agencies.
  • Supporting the planning, evaluation, and audit of practices, clinical pathways and protocols at St Mary's Hospital.
  • Maintaining contemporaneous records following professional standards.

  • You will be working at Aberbeeg, a low secure service for men which aims to make sure that each service user receives an individualised formulation of needs, to ensure that the care and treatment delivered is appropriate. Aberbeeg is located within the boundaries of the county borough of Blaenau Gwent, set in 11.5 acres of land with beautiful views of the Welsh countryside. Aberbeeg uses a twelve week therapeutic planning model alongside the "Safewards" model of care. This means that service users have a therapeutic timetable devised collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team using meaningful and smart goals for a twelve week period. Following this, the timetable is reviewed and changed to reflect the development and achievements made. Aberbeeg is located within the boundaries of the county borough of Blaina Gwent. Set in 11.5 acres of land with beautiful views of the Welsh countryside.
