Job Description:

This is a great opportunity to join our dedicated QSSHE team at Perenco, where you will be responsible for delivering the Occupational Hygiene program.

The primary focus is on anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and controlling workplace health risks across Perenco UK operations in the Southern North Sea. The role involves continual improvement and standardization of monitoring, auditing, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with statutory provisions, codes of practice, and industry guidelines, and promoting a positive approach to workplace health risks.

This position is based in our Norwich office, working Monday to Friday, with some travel to offshore and onshore sites as required.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Collaborate with medic/HSEA’s and operational teams to review Health Risk Assessments, identifying hazards and required monitoring or surveillance programs.
• Deliver occupational hygiene plans related to chemical, physical, biological, psychosocial, and ergonomic hazards, including but not limited to:
• Hazardous Substance Management and COSHH risk assessments
• Chemical exposure monitoring (e.g., benzene, toluene, mercury, lead, chromium, solvents, welding fumes, toxic gases)
• Asbestos Management and surveys
• Noise and vibration management and assessments
• Radiation management and assessments
• Thermal hazards, potable water, communicable diseases, mould, animal/insect hazards, DSE, fatigue
• Recommend and implement control strategies.
• Monitor and evaluate control measures such as LEV, PPE, RPE testing.
• Deliver occupational hygiene training programs.
• Conduct inspections and audits across operational sites, including support centers and NUIs, covering occupational health and hygiene standards.
• Maintain calibration systems for occupational hygiene equipment.

Key Requirements Include:

• Occupational Hygienist working towards or holding a BOHS Certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene, via an accredited degree or BOHS modules.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in occupational hygiene, with knowledge of measurement techniques.
• Drive and passion to champion occupational hygiene and workplace health risks.
• Excellent communication skills for presentations and reports.
• Ability to meet deadlines and produce high-quality work.
