Job description

OH Medical is currently seeking an Occupational Hygiene Technician for a leading Occupational Health Provider in a Full-Time Permanent role. This exciting site-based opportunity will see you join a multidisciplinary team near Bridgwater.

The Role:

This role offers the ideal chance for an experienced Occupational Hygiene Technician to monitor workplace exposures, conduct inspections, support investigations, and contribute to reports and workplace training on occupational hygiene. Your duties will include:

  • Conduct occupational hygiene monitoring and surveys to assess exposure to chemical, physical, and biological agents.
  • Take part in occupational hygiene investigations and studies.
  • Carry out regular workplace inspections to evaluate hygiene-related risks.
  • Assist in creating and delivering training and information on occupational hygiene.
  • Contribute to occupational hygiene performance reports.

Working Hours:
This role involves shift work, including Days (8 am-4 pm), Lates (3 pm-11 pm), Nights (10 pm-6 am), and Occasional Weekends (approximately 1 in 4). Enhanced pay is provided for work outside of standard hours.

Required Skills:

To be the successful Occupational Hygiene Technician candidate for this role, you'll be:

  • Ideally, an affiliate member of the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene (AFOH) working towards the Certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene (CertOH), but full training is available.
  • A STEM degree is desirable but not essential.
  • Experienced for preferably a minimum of 3 years in either an industrial and/or construction environment.
  • Able to demonstrate strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Office 365 and Teams.
  • Capable of analysing data and producing detailed reports.
