Job Description:

Due to continued growth, we are recruiting for an Occupational Health Technician to oversee our projects and sites in the south.

The Occupational Health Technician (OHT) is a key part of a multidisciplinary OH team. The OHT must provide accurate written, electronic, and verbal reports, always observing confidentiality. Core duties include health surveillance, health screening, and fitness for role medicals. This role will be based at our Kentish Town head office and will cover sites and projects in the south, involving peripatetic work to meet service demands.

What you will be doing:
  • Work under indirect supervision from qualified occupational health professionals.
  • Perform clinical tasks such as pulse, blood pressure monitoring, cholesterol checks, height/weight/BMI, audiology, spirometry, skin assessments, urinalysis, drug & alcohol screening, vision testing, and musculoskeletal assessments.
  • Gather medical data from questionnaires, face-to-face/telephone consultations, medical equipment, and escalate appropriately in line with clinical standards and procedures.
  • Support workforce wellbeing, health & safety initiatives.
  • Ensure data protection for sensitive medical information.
  • Follow company standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Work autonomously and as part of the wider occupational health team.
  • Follow infection control measures during clinical tasks.
  • Maintain medical equipment, including calibration and supplies.
  • Handle administration tasks like diary management, maintaining health records, and data entry.
  • Undertake other tasks as directed within the Occupational Health & Wellbeing department.
Who we are looking for:
  • Experience in occupational health, care sector, sports science, fitness instruction/personal training, or healthcare is desirable.
  • Completion of occupational health technician courses and/or health surveillance courses such as audiology, spirometry, and HAVS, or willingness to pursue these.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and organizational functions within the external environment.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships across all levels.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Reliability, punctuality, motivation, and team commitment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change.
  • Full UK driving licence with business insurance for independent travel.
