Job summary

Greys Specialist Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Occupational Health Technician to join a growing peripatetic team in Preston. The role suits experienced OHTs or those with Sport Science training or a background as EMT/Combat Medical, ready for travel across the UK.

You will conduct health surveillance tasks including audiometry, lung function tests, drug testing and baseline measurements, while supporting the OH team and promoting health initiatives. Overnight stays may be required.

Qualifications

• Sport Science degree or related health field.
• Experience as EMT/Combat Medical/ Ambulance Assistant preferred.
• Willingness to travel UK and undertake overnight stays.
• Hold a full manual UK driving licence (12+ months).
• Ability to drive a van up to 3.5 tonnes.
• Competent IT user (MS Office and EMR systems).
• Ability to work autonomously and communicate well.

Occupational Health Technician

Full time, permanent

£26,000 per annum (rising to £27k following 4 month probation), travel time paid for travel over an hour

Are you based in Preston and looking for an opportunity to work as an Occupational Health Technician?

We are seeking an Occupational Health Technician to join our clients' expanding peripatetic team. This role is great for experienced OHTs or those looking into OH who have a Sport Science degree or a background as an Emergency Medical Technician, transferrable health related field, Combat Medical or Ambulance Assistant.

You will be Undertaking; -

• Health surveillance screening.
• Audiometry
• Lung function testing.
• Drug and alcohol testing.
• General baseline measurements such as height, weight, blood pressure, urinalysis.
• To undertake and support additional tasks as requested, such as health promotion activities.
• Provide support to the whole occupational health team in helping the department to run smoothly and effectively, undertaking non-clinical tasks as requested.

Who we’re looking for

• Sport Science graduate or background as an Emergency Medical Technician, transferrable health related field, Combat Medical or Ambulance Assistant
• Able to complete overnight stays and extensive travel throughout the UK (overnight stays arefrequently be Monday – Thursday depending on client requirements)
• Hold a full manual UK driving licence (must have held this license for a minimum of 12 months) and be able to provide proof of this
• Experience and/or willingness to drive a van up to 3.5 tonnes
• Competent IT user (MS office suite and/or electronic medical records systems)
• Ability to work autonomously
• Great communication skills
