A leading water services company is seeking an Occupational Health Technician to join their Health & Safety team. This role involves conducting health surveillance assessments and promoting a culture of wellbeing. Candidates must have experience in clinical settings and excellent communication skills. We're looking for a dedicated Occupational Health Technician (OHT) to join our Health & Safety team. What you'll be doing:
- Conduct a range of health surveillance assessments including spirometry, audiometry, vision screening, HAVS Tier 1-2, confined space, and nightwork evaluations.
- Deliver health promotion services such as blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, and BMI testing, while supporting annual wellbeing campaigns.
- Travel extensively across Anglian Water's operational region, transporting and setting up clinical equipment for on-site assessments.
- Maintain high standards of infection control and cleanliness in all clinical environments, ensuring a safe and professional setting.
- Accurately record and process health data, reports, and notes while upholding strict confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
- Collaborate closely with Occupational Health Advisors and other internal stakeholders to ensure smooth clinic operations and service delivery.
- Identify and escalate health concerns appropriately, signposting employees to support services and referring to senior advisors when needed.
- Contribute to team projects and initiatives, promoting the Occupational Health service and embodying Anglian Water's values in every interaction.
What does it take to be successful?
- A full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the region, including transporting equipment and occasional overnight stays.
- Experience working in an occupational health or clinical setting, with a strong understanding of health surveillance procedures.
- Confident working independently and managing your own schedule, especially when travelling to remote sites.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with employees at all levels and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Excel, and ideally experience with Occupational Health software such as Cohort.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and contribute to team projects.
- High standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail in all aspects of clinical and administrative work.
