Job summary

Optima Health in Northern Ireland is seeking an Occupational Health Physician to support our clients across NI with a hybrid home/onsite delivery model. The role offers up to £135,000 per annum (FTE) with flexible hours and a permanent contract.

We welcome doctors with a Diploma in Occupational Medicine and GMC registration, and provide training and development to build your DipOccMed skills within our clinical team.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Occupational Medicine (Dip Occ Med) or AFOM/MFOM is required.
• Full GMC registration with ongoing professional development and revalidation.
• Medical practitioner who maintains skills aligned with revalidation requirements.

• Telephone and face-to-face consultations (occupational health).
• Sickness absence management.
• Attendance and performance case management.
• Ill-health retirement advice.
• Pre-placement consultations.

Role Summary

We are looking for an Occupational Health Physician (OHP) to join our team supporting customers across Northern Ireland. The role combines home working with onsite delivery when required.

We welcome applications from doctors with previous Occupational Health experience, as well as doctors who have completed a Diploma in Occupational Medicine (DipOccMed) and are looking to develop their career in Occupational Health.

You will be required to carry out:

• Telephone and face-to-face consultations
• Sickness absence management
• Attendance and performance case management
• Ill-health retirement advice
• Pre-placement consultations
• Health surveillance
• HAVS Tier 4 assessments

For doctors who are new to Occupational Health, we provide the training and support needed to develop your skills and confidence in the role. You will receive comprehensive training and ongoing support as you build your practical Occupational Health experience, allowing you to apply your DipOccMed knowledge in a clinical setting.

We are therefore keen to hear from doctors who have completed their DipOccMed and have a genuine interest in pursuing a career as an Occupational Health Physician, even if you have not yet gained hands-on Occupational Health experience.
