We’re currently recruiting for an Occupational Health Nurse Advisor to join a well-established in-house Occupational Health team in Southampton. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering clinical excellence and driving forward wellbeing initiatives across the business.
Working collaboratively with HR, managers, and the wider OH team, you’ll provide evidence-based clinical assessments and wellbeing support across a diverse workforce. The role is varied, combining day-to-day case management, health surveillance, and health promotion activity.
Provide clinical case management in support of attendance procedures
Deliver health surveillance including noise, HAVS, night worker assessments, spirometry, and more
Support with ancillary medical checks: eyesight, ECGs, audiometry, lung function testing
Conduct drug and alcohol screening in accordance with chain of custody protocols
Undertake capability and risk assessments to support individual employee needs
Carry out home visits and workplace assessments when required
Deliver wellbeing initiatives in line with company strategy
Deputise for the Senior OHNA when required, including delivering awareness training
Assist with private specialist referrals as needed
Registered General Nurse (NMC)
Degree in Occupational Health (essential)
Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience
Knowledge of health surveillance processes and relevant legislation
Competency in capability and risk assessments
IT proficiency (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
HAVS qualification (desirable, not essential)
Willingness to travel for assessments when required
Work in a well-supported, collaborative OH team
Excellent location – based at Overline House, opposite Southampton Central Station
