A leading company in the water sector, based in Huntingdon, is seeking an Occupational Health Advisor to play a vital role in the workforce's well-being. This role involves managing health services and supporting employees to foster a healthy culture within the organization. Circa £48,000 per annum
Full time/37 hrs a week/permanent
Location: Lancaster House in Huntingdon
Anglian Water offers a flexible approach; this role provides you with the opportunity to combine working from home and from an Anglian Water office. Your based location will be Lancaster House in Huntingdon with travel required.

This is a dynamic and rewarding position where you'll work closely with managers, HR, and safety teams across the business to deliver expert occupational health services. You'll be responsible for managing sickness absence cases, conducting workplace fit for and health surveillance assessments, and advising on health risks and interventions. Your work will directly influence the health culture at Anglian Water, helping to reduce business risk and improve employee well-being. You'll also contribute to policy development, deliver training, and ensure compliance with health legislation-all while being part of a proactive, supportive, and evolving Occupational Health Team.

What you'll be doing:
- Provide expert, timely, and practical occupational health advice to managers and employees across the business.
- Manage sickness absence cases, including referrals, liaison with healthcare providers, and return-to-work planning.
- Conduct workplace assessments to identify and mitigate health risks, including ergonomic and environmental evaluations.
- Collaborate with HR and Safety teams to coordinate employee health and safety interventions.
- Monitor employee health through targeted assessments and statutory health surveillance.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records in line with legal and professional standards.
- Support the development and implementation of health and well-being policies and procedures.
- Participate in Occupational Health audits and evaluate the impact of health initiatives.
- Stay up to date with legislation and best practices, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation in occupational health.
What does it take to be successful?
- Significant relevant experience, including strong and practical knowledge of occupational health.
- A diploma or degree in Occupational Health is desirable-or a willingness to undertake one.
- You'll be confident communicating with people at all levels-from employees to senior managers-translating complex health information into clear, actionable advice.
- Be comfortable working with Business Unit Directors and senior leaders, using your expertise to influence decisions and promote a culture of health and well-being.
- Prioritise effectively, manage multiple cases, and maintain accurate records in line with legal and professional standards.
- Confident using digital tools and systems to manage health records, deliver training, and support remote working where necessary.
- Experience delivering health education and training sessions, helping to build awareness and capability across the business.
- Be able to stay up to date with the latest developments in occupational health, legislation, and best practice-bringing fresh ideas and improvements to the team.
