Job summary

A local education institution in Enfield is looking for a Cover Supervisor to teach and maintain classroom standards in the absence of teachers. Job description

Cover Supervisors are expected to teach calm and purposeful lessons which enable all students to make progress, and for learning to continue when the usual teacher is absent. It is essential that they give active support to the vision and ethos of Wren Academy.

The primary purpose of a Cover Supervisor is to ensure that the standard of the lesson is of the highest quality for all students so that they are able to achieve to the best of their ability. Maintaining good order and outstanding behaviour is an essential requirement of the job.

This role is on an adhoc basis and offers great flexibility.

We are looking for people who:

  • Possess experience of working in a secondary school environment, preferably in a similar role.
  • Be skilled in managing and developing productive working relationships with young people.
  • Possess excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Show evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Be able to demonstrate an understanding of secondary school systems.
  • Be skilled in the use of ICT and preferably have experience of school-based information technology systems.
  • Demonstrate experience in setting up and operating effective management systems.
  • Show the capacity to be a fast and adaptable learner.
