Job summary

Allan Webb Ltd is seeking a skilled Component Engineer to support Obsolescence Management (OM) programs. You will provide technical component expertise across client programmes, monitor obsolescence, assess lifecycle status and identify suitable alternatives to mitigate risk.

The role requires analysing data sources, coordinating with suppliers and applying standards to ensure compliance, with hybrid working in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire and attendance at customer sites as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in component engineering and obsolescence management.
• Strong understanding of lifecycle management, part selection and risk mitigation.
• Ability to interpret datasheets, BOMs and supplier notices to identify risks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver component engineering support across OM projects and client accounts.
• Assess component lifecycle status, availability and compliance across electronics, mechanical and COTS items.
• Analyse BOMs, parts lists and supplier notices to identify obsolescence risks and impacts.
• Identify, evaluate and propose alternative components and mitigation options.
• Prepare risk reports and mitigation strategies for client policies and continuous improvement.
