Observability & Monitoring Engineer
MOD DV Clearance Required

Herefordshire (Onsite)

Up to £523.81/day

12 Month Contract

Role details:

We're partnering with a leading consultancy supporting the operation and assurance of IT services for the MOD. They are seeking an Observability & Monitoring Engineer to ensure maximum observability and security monitoring coverage, develop and maintain dashboards, and stay ahead of current threats to tailor detections.

Responsibilities:

• Server Management: maintain server uptime and patch management.
• Ensure new technologies are sufficiently monitored within predefined timeframes.
• Leverage observability tools for real-time monitoring and anomaly detection, developing SLA monitoring dashboards in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Optimize security posture by advising on security best practices and latest CVEs.
• Design and configure infrastructure security.
• Assist with threat modelling to identify coverage gaps and improve detections.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 3 years supporting or developing IT infrastructure monitoring (Elastic Stack, PRTG, Splunk, etc.).
• Experience retrieving data from multiple sources within distributed deployments.
• Experience creating dashboards for IT operations, monitoring, visibility, and alerts.

Nice to Have:

• Elasticsearch/Kibana experience.
• Logstash experience.
• Linux-based OS administration.
• Elastic Certified Engineer / Elastic Observability Engineer / CCNA / CompTIA Net+ / Sec+ certifications.

Eligibility:

Active MOD DV Clearance is required to be considered for this role.
