Job description

Hours: 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday. Evening and weekend events are paid as overtime.

This Edwardian building, renowned for its four-domed architecture, offers exceptional facilities for conferences, meetings, gala dinners, receptions, and weddings. It also houses the headquarters of the Institution of Civil Engineers, a globally respected body dedicated to promoting innovation, knowledge exchange, and excellence in civil engineering.

The Role:

We are seeking a talented Chef De Partie to join our dedicated culinary team. In this role, you will support the Head Chef in delivering high-quality food and service across all kitchen areas, ensuring that One Great George Street remains the preferred venue for meetings and events in Westminster, while also supporting the ICE's mission to promote civil engineering excellence.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the daily operations of your own section.
  2. Order food and equipment necessary for your section.
  3. Coordinate with suppliers and manage resources efficiently.
  4. Maintain high standards of food safety.
  5. Ensure company hygiene and allergen procedures are followed, with staff training and updates.
  6. Participate in training sessions and meetings to stay current with best practices.

About You:

  • Proven experience in high-volume commercial kitchens, banqueting, or restaurant environments.
  • Experience in 4- or 5-star settings is advantageous.
  • Strong culinary skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team approach.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, flexible, and well-organized.
  • Intermediate or advanced food hygiene certification.
  • Additional catering qualifications are a plus.
