Where you fit in

Based in the Southern North Sea on Leman Alpha, the Operations & Maintenance Tech reports to the platform supervision team (Operations & Maintenance Supervisors). They are responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of installation plant and equipment, maximizing production opportunities, and achieving daily targets. Responsibilities include maintaining plant equipment, troubleshooting anomalies, and ensuring operations stay within specified parameters. The role may involve directing visitors and vendors.

Note: This position is part of the One Gas West asset organization. On 30th July 2024, Shell announced the sale of this asset to RockRose Energy Limited, a subsidiary of Viaro Energy. Employment will transfer to a Viaro Energy company under TUPE regulations upon completion, estimated for autumn 2025. Further details will be shared during recruitment.

What’s the role?
  • Support production targets by monitoring and optimizing plant operations.
  • Ensure production, environmental, and cost targets are met, minimizing losses.
  • Promote the “One Team” approach, supporting efficiency improvements alongside the OIM and supervisors.
  • Investigate production losses using the 5 Whys process to identify root causes.
  • Participate in offshore/onshore meetings such as surveillance and defect elimination.
  • Lead or engage in modifications to the installation as appropriate.
What We Need From You
  • Exemplary safety leadership and behaviors, aligning with Shell’s HSSE standards.
  • Full understanding of installation activities to make safe, on-the-spot decisions.
  • Competency as an Isolation Owner and permit holder in P-Vision.
  • Active participation in audits and near miss reporting.
  • Involvement with risk assessments like COSHH, manual handling, etc.
  • Familiarity with Platform Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Awareness of the Installation Safety Case and related documentation.
  • High ownership standards in your areas of responsibility.
  • First-line emergency response duties per the Station Bill.
  • Proactive monitoring and defect recording of plant and equipment.
  • Proficiency with electronic maintenance tools, preferably SAP, for defect reporting and resource management.
  • Compliance with Permit to Work system, including creating permits for maintenance and turnarounds.
  • Execution of Planned and Corrective Maintenance routines proficiently.
  • Effective communication with onshore teams regarding status and process requirements.
  • Willingness to work on Normally Unmanned Installations, including Walk to Work Vessels or Flying squads.
