As O & M Project Manager

You will work across the project development, design, delivery, and O&M functions. You will support in the delivery of ICP design submissions and project manage the contract management and on-site delivery during the network build and commissioning stages.

We are looking for a Project Manager who will lead and manage projects throughout the full end-to-end process, ensuring all components meet the agreed customer requirements. Ideally, your experience will come from working within a utilities, construction, or engineering environment, where you will have gained HV or EHV electrical knowledge.

Your main responsibilities:
  • Project management of ICP build and commissioning activities, management of DNO/Grid new connections processes, review of ICP build programmes.
  • Monitoring of ICP activities during project build, witnessing site commissioning, review and acceptance of as-built documentation, monitoring health and safety performance of third-party contractors, ensuring work is conducted safely at all times, and contributing to safe working practices.
  • Execute and maintain contract documents required for network adoption, including managing contract budgets and resourcing, managing project risks and issues, documenting and managing project change control, reporting project progress using agreed lines, templates, and processes, onboarding and auditing contractors, managing land rights for projects, working with engineering to develop technical standards, maintaining stakeholder communications.
  • Manage client operation and maintenance framework agreements to ensure proper site maintenance activities.
  • Support the development of the client's asset management strategy.
  • Assist with ICP design submissions and land rights for adoptable networks for various network sizes and purposes.
  • Build relationships with colleagues to share best practices and innovations.
  • Provide technical support to procurement teams and project managers for special projects and new product development.
  • Represent the client at industry technical forums.
  • Be skilled in problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  • Maintain an open, positive, can-do attitude to build confidence and credibility within the team and stakeholders.
  • Possess good IT skills; experience with MS Project is advantageous.

Ideal candidates will have over 5 years of engineering experience and be degree qualified or have an HND, HNC, or similar. Experience delivering projects up to 33kV and 132kV is desirable, along with:

  • Evidence of proficiency with industry-standard design software.
  • Training on industry codes and practices.
  • Experience in an ICP, IDNO, or DNO environment.
  • Experience in ICP design or design review.
  • Experience in land rights delivery is desirable.
  • Experience with EPC, NEC ECC contract administration is desirable.
