Job description

O&M Manager - Energy Storage & Solar PV, High Wycombe

Climate17 is working alongside a well-established, UK-based asset management firm that specializes in the entire project lifecycle, from origination to operations of renewable energy and power generation assets.

They are seeking an O&M Manager to ensure contractual and statutory compliance for a portfolio of Solar PV and BESS O&M contracts. The O&M Manager will aim to maximize asset production, increase efficiency, and maintain a high safety performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide O&M services to meet contractual requirements, including reactive callout rota, team recruitment, training, and competency.
• Work with internal teams to ensure staff have the correct tools and equipment.
• Measure maintenance performance metrics and implement improvements.
• Develop maintenance plans.
• Schedule resources, manage work control safely, and report on completed work.
• Ensure compliance with Safety Rules.
• Write and review RAMS, permits, and maintenance procedures.
• Manage a team of engineers daily, ensuring safety adherence.
• Manage supplier relationships and equipment warranties.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders such as DNO and asset owners.
• Respond to emergencies, site outages, and changing circumstances.
• Act as the main contact for the company’s O&M service, providing updates to clients and contractual reports within the region.
• Handle P&L responsibilities for services and contracts under management.
• Ensure correct client invoicing and supplier payments.
• Assist in onboarding new sites into maintenance systems.
• Utilize and maintain a Computerized Maintenance Management System.

Requirements

• Qualification in electrical/electromechanical discipline.
• ECS Gold Card - Essential.
• Previous electrical or multi-skilled maintenance experience.
• Proficient IT skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, troubleshooting software).
• Qualification to work safely on-site.
• HV authorized person – AP15/OP40.
• Knowledge of HV/LV power electronics (inverters, converters, transformers).
• Experience with BESS (preferred).
• HVAC training and F-Gas qualification (preferred).
• Strong understanding of IT subjects, CMD, remote desktop, networking, MODBUS/TCP protocols (preferred).
• C&G2391-5 Test & Inspect or equivalent (preferred).
