Job description

Ko Taku Reo Deaf Education is seeking a proactive andskilled Project Coordinator to support the delivery of our New Zealand SignLanguage (NZSL) and Deaf Bilingual-Bicultural (Bi-Bi) Professional Learning andDevelopment (PLD) Contract, funded by the Ministry of Education.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a nationalinitiative aimed at enhancing NZSL capability and Deaf Bi-Bi teachingstrategies across Aotearoa, ultimately improving learning outcomes for Deaf andHard of Hearing (D/HH) ākonga.

THE ROLE / TE MAHI

Reporting to the NZSL PLD Contract Manager, you’ll beresponsible for:

  • Coordinatingand monitoring multiple workstreams within scope, timeline and budget.
  • Supportingproject planning, reporting and resource management.
  • Maintainingproject documentation and overseeing administrative processes.
  • Facilitatinginternal and external communications.
  • Coordinatinglogistics for meetings, workshops and NZSL lesson timetables.

This role is central to ensuring project success througheffective coordination, communication and oversight.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has3–5 years of relevant project coordination or administration experience.
  • Isconfident managing timelines, resources and budgets.
  • Hasproficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel etc.).
  • Isdetail-oriented, highly organised and communicates clearly across diverseteams.
  • Candemonstrate initiative, flexibility and problem-solving skills.
  • Hasexperience with project tools (e.g., Teamwork Projects) – desirable, notessential.
  • UnderstandsDeaf culture and is willing to engage in learning NZSL (proficiencypreferred).
