We are seeking to appoint a suitably experienced and skilled Band 7 Clinical Specialist to join the No Wrong Door service (NWD) at Stepney Road Children's Hub in Scarborough. NWD replaces traditional council-run young people's homes with hubs which combine residential care with fostering.Within this role you will be providing psychological support to the young people living within the home as well as the NWD staff team. Every young person in the NWD programme is given a key worker supported by a single team of trusted and skilled workers.
You will also be working as part of our Psychologically Informed Partnership Approach (PIPA) service that consists of Psychologists and Practitioners and are a supportive team of colleagues who bring psychologically-informed ideas and ways of working to children's social care teams, where clinicians are highly valued in their embedded roles. There are opportunities to work creatively and flexibly to support the emotional well-being of marginalised children and young people, for whom more traditional clinic-based approaches are not always effective. The work is diverse and varied, including direct therapeutic work, consultation, teaching and training. There is access to a range of formal and informal supervision and learning opportunities for PIPA staff in relevant areas such as trauma-informed and systemic practice.
Supporting young people within the hub
Young people with high risk/complex needs who are involved with multiple agencies, particularly those that are also known to CAMHS including crisis service
Children and young people on the edge of care and family or placement breakdown
Young people approaching the transition to adult services with multi agency involvement, particularly mental health services
Support to hub family carers and high needs supported lodgings
Integral involvement into the care and risk management planning and providing specialist advice to other professionals on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management.
Implements a range of psychological therapies for individual clients, carers, families and groups, adjusting and refining psychological formulations as required.
Provides psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other staff contributing directly to client's diagnosis, formulation and intervention plan.

The post holder will have a proven track record of working with vulnerable and care experienced children, young people, families and carers, in health or local authority settings, many of whom have experienced trauma and can have multiple, complex needs. We are looking for someone creative and flexible to work in partnership with health and social care.
