Job summary

NUVIA, a VINCI Construction subsidiary, is recruiting a Civil Structural Engineer for a permanent hybrid role based at Birchwood Park, Warrington. You will contribute to design and safety reviews, deliver structural designs, and produce documentation across all project phases.

The role requires a degree in engineering and experience in a regulated environment, with a track record of delivering robust, compliant solutions. UK driving licence is desirable.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of fundamental structural engineering principles.
• Experience delivering design in highly regulated industry.
• Proven track record of delivering design solutions.
• Good understanding of safety legislation and statutory regulations.
• Possession of UK driving licence (desirable).

Responsibilities

Purpose of the jobThe Engineer is key in providing a design engineering service. The Engineer is responsible for the production of discipline specific design and engineering deliverables to support the project.Reports toSenior Engineer or Principal Engineer.

Key Accountabilities

• Development of designs to satisfy the technical specification.
• Production of design deliverables throughout the design process.
• Checking and authoring of basic design calculations.
• Contribution to design and safety reviews.
• Preparation of technical specifications, risk assessments and installation method statements.
• Ensuring quality and timely delivery of design documentation throughout all phases of the design process,
• Compliance with safety and statutory regulations,
• Develop cost effective technical solutions.

Occupational Skills and Knowledge

Degree qualified in a relevant technical / engineering discipline or demonstrable experience, Associate membership of a discipline specific engineering institution.

Duties and Requirements

Essential

• Knowledge and understanding of the fundamental structural engineering principles.
• Previous experience in the role of design in highly regulated industry.
• Demonstrable successfully delivering design solutions.
• Good understanding of safety legislation and statutory regulations.
• Proven track record within a project environment.
• Self-motivation with strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Good commercial awareness.

Desirable

• Degree Qualified in a relevant technical/engineering discipline.
• Able and motivated to work towards, or already have, Incorporated and/or Chartered status with the IStructE or ICE.
• Experience in the nuclear industry.
• Management of design teams in the technical delivery of projects.
• Management of sub-contractors.
• A full UK driving licence
