Job summary

UCM Education is seeking a dedicated Baby Room Practitioner to join a welcoming nursery on a full-time, permanent basis. You will provide a safe, nurturing environment for babies, acting as Key Person and supporting their daily routines, development and wellbeing.

You will work with families to build secure, trusting relationships and ensure high standards of safeguarding and nursery practice in line with EYFS guidelines.

Qualifications

• Requires an Early Years/Childcare qualification and experience with babies.
• Solid understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
• Caring, reliable, patient and confident in supporting babies’ learning and wellbeing.
• Able to build strong relationships with children and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, warm, stimulating environment for babies to explore and learn.
• Act as Key Person, fostering secure attachments and supporting individual needs.
• Plan and support age-appropriate activities aligned with EYFS.
• Observe development and support milestones and routines.
• Assist with feeding, changing, sleeping, and personal care.
• Support day-to-day running of the Baby Room and safeguarding practices.
• Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues.
