Job Title: Nurture Specialist Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? If so, GSL Education are seeking an Nurture Specialist Teaching Assistant to work at Client Schools in York, North Yorkshire starting as soon as possible.

As a Nurture Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing nurturing support to students. Working closely with teachers and other support staff, you will help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where students can develop their social, emotional, and academic skills.

Nurture Specialist Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students.
• Use sensory resources and approaches to support learning.
• Assist in creating and implementing educational resources and materials.
• Maintain accurate records of children’s progress.
• Supervise students during play-based activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Nurture Specialist Teaching Assistant Requirements:

• Experience working with children, preferably SEN children.
• Experience in a similar role, demonstrating a strong understanding of classroom dynamics and student needs.
• A nurturing and empathetic approach to supporting students' social and emotional development.
• Passion for education and a genuine desire to make a difference.
• Additional training in Special Educational Needs is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with educational technology tools and resources.
• Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for a new one.
