Job description

Nurture & Wellbeing Teaching Assistant (ALN Classroom)

Are you a compassionate, patient, and proactive individual with a passion for supporting children with additional learning needs?

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Nurture and Wellbeing Teaching Assistant to join a supportive ALN classroom in the CF3 area. This full-time position supports pupils from Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to Year 6, helping to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where all children can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the emotional and social wellbeing of pupils with ALN
  • Foster positive relationships and create a calming, consistent environment
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored support strategies
  • Assist with learning activities, behaviour support, and transitions throughout the day
  • Provide 1:1 and small group interventions focused on wellbeing and emotional regulation

Requirements:

  • Availability to work 5 days per week
  • Experience working with children with ALN (desirable)
  • A nurturing, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
  • Relevant qualifications or training in child development, wellbeing, or additional learning needs are a bonus

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
