The major responsibility of the Nursing Supervisor (RN) is to implement the mission, vision, philosophy, core values, and standards of practice for all staff on off-tours and weekends. Serves as a catalyst and role model, providing administrative leadership and direction. Responsible for allocating available resources to promote autonomous, effective, safe, cost-efficient, and compassionate quality care. Facilitates an atmosphere of interactive management and develops collegial relationships among nursing personnel, other disciplines, and the healthcare community. The Nursing Supervisor is accountable for the acute care environment and must create learning experiences that are open, respectful, and promote the sharing of expertise. This role is critical to the recruitment and retention of staff and contributes to organizational strategic planning, hospital operations, standards of care, goal attainment, and evidence-based practices.
