Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nursing Associate to join the Starlight Unit. The ideal candidate will be a qualified and registered nurse associate with experience in nursing children.

We are a unit that consists of an inpatient ward, an in-house HDU, an assessment unit, and a day case surgery unit.

The successful applicant will work within the nursing team to care for and assess acutely unwell patients. They will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to provide excellent family-centered care.

Main Duties
  • The post holder is responsible for ensuring immediate care to the relevant client group and will work primarily on the Starlight Unit.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for these patients, supporting and guiding junior staff.
  • Provide direct patient care with detailed clinical knowledge of the specialist area.
  • Assist senior staff in maintaining high standards of quality care.
  • Act as a positive role model within the department for staff, patients, and carers.
  • Enable nurses to acquire clinical and professional competencies through education and staff development.
  • Participate in personal development.
