Job summary

Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust in the Greater Manchester area is recruiting a Nurse Associate to work predominantly with the Early Intervention team, four days a week in the community and one day a week with the Bury Treatment team for depot injections and Clozapine clinics.

The post involves conducting physical health checks (BP, pulse, venepuncture, ECG) and supporting patients across home visits and community clinics, under the supervision of a Consultant Psychiatrist and care

Qualifications

• Experience of undertaking physical health checks for patients and recording results.
• Ability to organise and prioritise own delegated workload.
• Ability to deal with routine and unpredictable nature of workload and individual patient contact.
• Understanding of the scope of the Nursing Associate role and its contribution to service development.

Job summary
The post holder will work primarily with the Early Intervention team 4 days a week completing physical health checks but work with the Bury Treatment team for 1 day a week doing Depot injections and working in Clozapine clinics.
Main duties of the job
Performing Physical health checks for patients open to the Early Intervention service working closely with the Consultant Psychiatrist and Team manager along with care coordinators for the client group. The post is both clinic based in the community and in patients own homes.

Education / Qualifications
Essential

• NMC registered Nurse Associate with Foundation degree
• GCSE's Grade c or above in Maths and English language / New GCSE grade 4-9 in Maths and English language
• Experience of working in teams under appropriate supervision as part of a multi disciplinary team
• Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs seeking advice where appropriate
• Experience of working within an Early intervention service
• Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing associate and how the role may contribute to service development
• Understanding of the importance of following procedures and treatment plans
• In depth knowledge of Psychotropic medication , it's use and side effects and the need for the physical health monitoring around this.

• Ability to organise and prioritise own delegated workload
• Ability to deal with routine and unpredictable nature of workload and individual patient contact
