Job description


The Division of Surgery is looking for Nursing Assistants to work within a self contained Day Surgery Unit at Withington Community Hospital. This is a full time post working Monday to Friday.

With a passion for helping others and an ability to demonstrate compassion in your approach to care for our patients, your support and ‘hands on’ work will offer not only our patients a more positive and reassuring hospital visit, but you individually; great job satisfaction in knowing your dedication and commitment has made a real difference to the people whom you’ll be caring for.

We are looking to recruit experienced, full time skilled Theatre Nursing Assistants for the Treatment Centre at Withington Community Hospital with experience of working in Theatre or a Day Surgery setting.

We are a small friendly team who work well together to deliver excellent patient care. We undertake plastics trauma & skin surgery and day case urology procedures under local anaesthetic. All staff rotate within the unit and work in all areas - admission and discharge lounges, theatre and recovery.

You must be flexible to and able to work between the hours 07.30-19.00. The unit is currently open Monday - Friday and we open adhoc when required on a Saturday and Sunday.

If you’re a more experienced Nursing Assistant seeking a new opportunity in a Band 3 role, you’ll undertake a skills analysis when you start to identify any gaps in your clinical skills knowledge needed for your role. You’ll then be supported to access relevant modules from the clinical skills programme to support your progression to a Band 3 post on completion.
