Job description

We are currently recruiting for Nursing Assistants to join our Warrington and Halton Adults Services.

This is an excellent opportunity for those living locally who wish to expand their skills by working in a service that provides a safe and comfortable environment for service users. The services we are recruiting for include:

  • Austen Ward (Hollins Park Hospital)
  • Sheridan Ward (Hollins Park Hospital)
  • Weaver Ward (The Brooker Centre)
  • Bridge Ward (The Brooker Centre)

Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview/assessment on 29th July 2025.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Carrying out assigned duties involving direct care and observation of service users under supervision of qualified staff.
  2. Reporting observations related to mental state and risk factors to qualified staff.
  3. Working with service users individually and in groups as outlined in care plans and directed by lead professionals.

Additional responsibilities include:

  1. Coordinating assessment and delivery of care plans with guidance from qualified practitioners.
  2. Assisting with activities of daily living, social, recreational, and occupational activities.
  3. Reporting observations and concerns about physical or mental health to qualified practitioners.
  4. Facilitating effective communication within the team.
  5. Assisting with medication administration and reporting issues.
  6. Using verbal and non-verbal skills to overcome communication barriers.
  7. Maintaining a safe environment for service users.
  8. Supporting assessments and contributing to risk management plans.
  9. Developing links with other agencies and services.
  10. De-escalating situations involving aggression.
  11. Carrying out observations and reporting concerns.
  12. Responding to the changing needs of service users.
  13. Supporting the development and control of individual care plans.
