To assist the qualified nurse in the delivery of direct and indirect patient care for 26 medical patients on a medical ward.

Ward 2 at Hexham General Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic Band 3 Nursing Assistant to join our dedicated and friendly team. No two days are the same on our dynamic ward, and we offer a supportive environment where you can develop your clinical skills, contribute to outstanding patient care, and grow as part of the Northumbria family.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Assisting the qualified nurse in delivering direct and indirect patient nursing care.
  2. Ensuring high standards of personal care.
  3. Accurate record keeping using Nerve Centre system and ICE, including NEWS, MUST, L&S.
  4. Performing interventions such as bladder scans and weight measurements.
  5. Maintaining patient safety through safe moving and handling, IPC, and information governance.
  6. Supporting trainees.
  7. Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), hygiene needs, elimination, nutrition, and hydration.
  8. Performing Last Offices and clinical observations.
  9. Checking and maintaining equipment.
  10. Updating clinical training records.

Ward 2 is a general medical ward with 26 patients with high complexity needs and rehabilitation goals.
