Overview

Being supervised by Registered Nurses & within Trust guidelines & protocols, you\'ll assist the Nursing team in delivering the excellent standard of patient care that you would expect for yourself and your loved ones.

Responsibilities

• Support patients with personal care needs, including mobilising, toileting, bathing, dressing, eating & drinking.
• Following on the job training and assessment, undertake a range of delegated clinical care duties, including recording patient observations and changes to patient conditions.
• Support registered nurses in order for the patient\'s needs to be holistically met.
• Assist Clinicians and Nurse Specialists in Colposcopy and Hysteroscopy clinics; demonstrate a keen interest in women\'s health.
• Communicate in a sensitive and compassionate manner with patients, relatives and the multidisciplinary team; work flexibly over 4 days a week full time or 3.5 days part time; typical hours 08:30 to 18:30 (3 days) and 08:30 to 18:00 (1 day) or 08:30 to 15:30.
• Work across sites Oxford Road, St. Mary\'s Gynaecology Department & Withington Hospital Gynaecology Outpatient department.

Development & Progression

On joining MFT, if you are new to working in healthcare, you\'ll be supported to develop your knowledge & skills through our Band 2 Development Programme for Nursing Assistants. Completion of the Band 2 Development Programme provides the opportunity to progress into a Band 3 Nursing Assistant role.

If you\'re an experienced Nursing Assistant seeking a Band 3 role, you\'ll undertake a skills analysis at start to identify gaps; you\'ll be supported to access relevant clinical skills modules to progress to a Band 3 post on completion. Evidence of prior learning will be reviewed and considered.

On joining MFT, you\'ll be supported to develop through our Support Worker Development Programme for Nursing Assistants, including completion of the Care Certificate for those who have not completed it previously. Completion of this programme provides the opportunity to progress to a Band 3 Nursing Assistant role.

If you\'re a more experienced Nursing Assistant, you\'ll undertake a skills analysis at start to identify gaps in clinical skills knowledge; you\'ll be supported to access relevant modules from the clinical skills programme to progress to a Band 3 post on completion.
