Job description

Are you someone who enjoys spending time with children and young people, providing fun-filled opportunities and creating special memories? At St Andrews Hospice, we offer a warm, friendly, and nurturing environment where our children, young people, families, and workforce are at the heart of everything we do, striving to make each day enjoyable for everyone.

You can make a real difference to the lives of babies, children, and young people with palliative care needs and life-limiting conditions, supporting families throughout their journey from referral to end of life and bereavement support.

Being in palliative care nursing is often described as a real honour and privilege, yet it is frequently overlooked as a career pathway. At St Andrews, we strive to make every second count, creating memories for families. We aim to bring joy, happiness, and laughter to our Children’s Services, supporting tears and sad times with care and compassion.

Main duties of the job

Every baby, child, young person, and family is unique. Our care plans are individualized, and you will have the opportunity to work closely with children and families, making a difference and providing time to care—what makes our organization special.

Our Nursing Assistants are vital in delivering the best care to our families. We seek talented individuals who share our passion to improve the lives of children and young people with complex health conditions. Every day counts, and you can contribute to that.

Flexibility is essential, as working hours are based on an internal rotation including days, nights, and weekends. The role involves community work, so access to a vehicle and a full driving license are required.
