We are delighted to announce that we have a vacancy for a nursing assistant in the Bronchoscopy Unit which offers high‑tech minimally invasive fibreoptic and ultrasound investigations to diagnose, stage, treat and research conditions of the respiratory system. The Unit houses 3 dedicated procedure rooms and supports the Centre's general and specialist services in asthma, emphysema, interstitial lung diseases, pleural diseases, lung cancer and research portfolio including tissue banking, and laryngoscopy procedures to assess the vocal cords.
The Unit uses a system in conjunction with the CT scanning to direct sampling of small inaccessible lung nodules through a navigational bronchoscopy procedure and also specialises in the Chartis assessment system to assess eligibility for endobronchial valves in emphysema conditions. The Unit also takes pride of being one of the very few centres that performs robotic bronchoscopy service in the UK.
