Job summary

NHS Jobs is seeking a Registered Nursing Associate to join our nursing team and support Registered Nurses in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients.

The role requires working within NMC standards and promoting teamwork while guiding less experienced staff and learners in the clinical environment.

You will perform essential tasks and participate in interdisciplinary care, contributing to safe, effective patient care across the unit.

Qualifications

• Must follow NMC Standards of Proficiency for Nursing Associates (2018).
• Be an accountable practitioner; promote health and prevent ill health; provide and monitor care.
• Work effectively in teams and provide support to learners within the clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Cannulation, venepuncture, ECG and CVAD dressing and venesection.
• Assisting with acute Haematology emergencies and performing routine observations on all patients attending the unit.
• Involvement with simple dressings and assistance with procedures such as Lumbar puncture and Bone Marrow Biopsy.

Job description

The Registered Nursing Associate will work as part of the nursing workforce, supporting Registered Nurses to deliver high quality, person-centred, compassionate care to patients. They will deliver planned care to a group of patients working within the standards of proficiency outlined by the Nursing and Midwifery Council and in accordance with Trust policies and protocols. They will demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team and provide support / guidance to less experienced staff / learners within the clinical environment as needed.

Key duties and responsibilities

Registered Nursing Associates must work in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Standards of Proficiency for Nursing Associates (2018). Being an accountable practitioner; promoting health and preventing ill health; providing and monitoring care; working in teams; improving safety and quality and contributing to integrated care.
